Tease Your Taste Buds with Tahini

Food tastes bland until the time it is spiced up by some dip or sauce. I personally love Tahini it’s a Middle Eastern staple made from the fresh paste of toasted and ground hulled sesame seeds. I often swipe down a spoon of Tahini on my salad dressings or wraps it has a mildly nutty and creamy taste with a texture like loose nut butter.

For all you calorie conscious people Tahini is a healthy choice. Sesame seeds contain 55% oil and 20% protein, which make it rich in healthy fats and essential amino acids. I add Tahini to most of my meals as it is power packed with nutrients like- iron, zinc, manganese, copper, phosphorous, and magnesium.

The Healthier Option: Karnis Tahini

Karnis Tahini is one thing that is both healthy and tasty, made from freshly hulled sesame seed paste, seasoned with fresh garlic, parsley, and lemon juice. This creamy paste is my go-to accompaniment with sweet or savory foods. It renders a host of health benefits like –

  • Packed with omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, Karnis tahini fosters the development of nervous tissues in the body. Karnis tahini helps in improving the brain function,  it is especially good for growing children.

Quick Tahini Salad Dressings

It is pretty evident that I love Tahini in my food and I use it a lot for dressing my salads. It just blasts of the taste buds. I recently tried these salad dressings-

  • Lemon Tahini dressing for this you need ¼ cup Karnis tahini, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1tbsp apple cider vinegar and pure maple syrup, 2 cloves of garlic chopped, Salt-pepper and water to thin if needed. Mix it all up in a jar and pour over your salads. Best recipe for working moms! Now no need to toil in the kitchen to make homemade Tahini.
  • Another quick dressing is, take in a blender ½ cup Karnis tahini and water, add ¼th cup tamari, ½ cup olive oil, 2tbsp red wine vinegar and lemon juice, fresh ginger root, 2 garlic cloves, and black pepper. Then just blend, blend, and blend to a smooth paste. See, this is so quick and easy! Isn’t it?

Dips To Go WithVeggies As Well As Meat

It is a daunting task to get your kids to eat vegetables; I just make it super delicious for them with a lip-smacking Tahini Dip. This creamy dip is my guilt-free dipping. You will just need a Karnis Tahini. No need to indulge in the tough and time-consuming process of making Tahini at home.

Just put some Tahini is a bowl and you can add some3 finely chopped cloves of garlic and 1-cup finely chopped vegetables( Like cucumber, carrots, bell peppers, lettuce, etc) to it. Now just mix it well and garnish with chopped cilantro. This dip is perfect to be paired with fresh as well as grilled veggies. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian or meat lover, I bet you won’t be able to resist this dip!

Saucy Wraps

I often pack up Wraps or sandwiches for work they are quite convenient and not messy like curries or soups. Karnis Tahini is a perfect pick as it helps me in making yummy, lip-smacking sandwiches in no time. I just spread the creamy, smooth Tahini over the bread and enjoy munching it.  You can also try some other amazing combinations like-

If there is a party at home and I need to quickly get on the plate some appetizer I often combine the tahini paste with hummus and serve it toasted pita wedges or crackers.  After combining the two pastes drizzle olive oil over it along with a dash of paprika and the tahini on hummus is good to go.

BBQ it with Tahini

I often put chicken legs or prawns on the barbeque and sear them with creamy Karnis Tahini Sauce. The charred taste of the meat and the buttery texture of Tahini make for a perfect match. I also love it with grilled fish.

Add Tahini Sauce to the Grilled Veggies

I love grilling vegetables it just amps up their natural flavor, just add a dash of Tahini sauce to your grilled veggies to double up the taste.

You can almost gain from my obsession and fascination over Tahini that I add it to everything practically. That smooth nutty tastes just soothes the palate and melts deep into my taste buds.
